Kurt Henstorf was born and raised in Shenandoah and is a 1967 graduate of SHS. Following a four-year stint at the University of Iowa obtaining a BBA in Finance and a BBA in Accounting he returned to Shenandoah where he married his college sweetheart. They returned to Shenandoah where Kurt began is vocation as a community banker in a family run small community bank and Marion began her career as a schoolteacher. They raised a family of two sons and now routinely brag about their six grandchildren. Kurt has been in banking working up to President of the bank, purchasing and maintaining ownership of a local community bank with roots to SW Iowa of over 150 years.

Kurt has been active in many civic non-profit functions touching low and moderate income housing, economic development, education, the medical community and ambulance services, church, and banking associations both on a state and national level including serving on the national board of directors for the community banker association, the state bankers association and community bankers association, and serving as Treasurer and President of Community Bankers of Iowa. Kurt and his family have a vested interest in Vision Shenandoah and its success.
