Kris Sherman, along with her husband Gordon of 36 years, has two children and one grandchild. Kris was born and raised in Nebraska (don’t hold that against her), but her husband was born and raised in Shenandoah. After graduating from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Kris was a CPA for KPMG Peat Marwick in Lincoln and Omaha. From there they moved to West Des Moines where Kris was a clothing buyer for Younkers Department Store. Then 30 years ago the decision was made to move to Shenandoah.

Aside from serving as Vision Shenandoah Treasurer, Kris has served on American Cancer Society Board where she started the Relay for Life in Shenandoah, Shenandoah Home and Garden Club, Shenandoah Elementary PTO where she started the Elementary School Youth Track Meet, Emmanual Lutheran Church Financial Secretary, Greater Shenandoah Foundation board, Page County Foundation board, and Treasurer for Habitat for Humanity/SWI Fuller Center. Currently, she is the accountant at the Shenandoah Chamber and Industry Association, on the board at Earl May Seed & Nursery, and coordinator for the Tannenbaum Tea which raises money for organizations that benefit children in the Shenandoah area.

“I’ve always been a firm believer of what you put into life is what you get out of it! If you invest the time and energy in your community, you will see positive results. Through Vision Shenandoah, together we can make Shenandoah home for generations to come.”
